Stover's Point Beach

The public is welcome to enjoy the peaceful beauty of Stover’s Point Preserve. It’s a great place for swimming, relaxing on the gravel beach and enjoying the view of the iconic Cribstone Bridge. Bring water shoes to protect your feet from numerous barnacles. Please check our visitor guidelines below for hours and dog leash rules. Parking is limited. Speed limit 5 mph.

Popham Beach

Bordering the south side of the mouth of the Kennebec River, Popham Beach State Park is truly one of Maine's rare geologic landforms. Sunbathers relaxing on Popham's sands can see Fox and Wood islands offshore, and the Kennebec and Morse rivers border each end of the beach.

Reid State Park

From the top of Griffith Head, a rocky headland overlooking the park, visitors can view sweeping seascapes and spot the lighthouses on Seguin Island, The Cuckolds, and Hendricks Head. Visitors can also see several islands, including: Damariscove, a thriving fishing community in Colonial times; Outer Head, protected as a tern sanctuary; and Southport, where noted naturalist Rachel Carson wrote Silent Spring.

Old Orchard Beach

Enjoy seven miles of sandy beach at Old Orchard. When the tide is out and the sun is shining, the sand goes on forever. People nestle in for a nap, play football, toss a frisbee, venture into the surf. There seems to be room for everyone.
