very private and quite! a small kitchen table instead of a tall island would have been nice
Basin Cove of "Fundy"

I'm glad the VRBO page didn't include a picture of the path down to the cabin. Because I have balance issues, we wouldn't have decided to stay there. BUT, then we would have missed out on one of the best places we've ever stayed in Maine. (We come every fall.) Fortunately, the other 78-year-old can help me up and down the path. "On the Rocks" is an adorable cottage just made for two. The minute we saw the porthole door, we were hooked. What a charming cottage with its varnished horizontal knotty-pine walls and wide plank flooring. We wished there had been a printed history of the cottage from the interior to the exterior landscaping. Who built it? When was it built? Who was Albert E Johnson, and why is that marker here? I can't say enough good things about the cottage. Plus, we felt like we were on the Basin Cove of "Fundy". What a delight to watch and listen to the tides going in and out. Before we even saw the cottage, we knew it would be special when a bevy of Flickers greeted us upon arrival. There are so many wonderful waterfowl to watch and enjoy. The cormorants, gulls and ducks ran the rapids along with the kayakers. There are Great Blue Herons and Kingfishers. Two osprey and an eagle even appeared during our stay. We also want to recommend the lobster rolls at Ericas, and Cameron's in Brunswick. Wild Oats and the Flight Deck are great places to enjoy.
Great Location - beautiful scenery

Super cute, cozy cottage right on the water - super peaceful and relaxing. Loved the crystal clear water and seeing so many crabs - all sizes! We met the owner who lives next door. He took us for a boat ride to explore the area and he gave us some history about the area and the cottage - what a treat!

Had a great time "On the Rocks". Caught stripe bass almost every day and harvested clams and mussels, all out the front door! The tidal change is amazing to behold. Bought a few lobsters (off the boat) and caught many mackerel at the lobster wharf across the way. Had an amazing lobster roll and chowder at nearby establishment. Cottage provides all essentials.

On the Rocks is a cute little cottage perfect for two. The views and the waterfront access are incredible. You won't find a more relaxing and peaceful spot. We so enjoyed watching the Lobster boats coming in and out across the way at the Interstate Lobster pier. Great Stripper fishing, bird watching and Sea Glass hunting. The owners were very gracious and accommodating. Definitely will be on the top of our list for next years vacation
Our visit to Maine!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this house. The only issue we had was our next to the last day, we had a rain and it seemed to bring on an invasion of ants to the inside? We did see the homeowner and made her aware of the issue as we were leaving! Love Maine and the location of this house being on the water and seeing lobster boats, in and out, and the location to 2 eateries. Would come back again!
Loved the view!
Susan
Location is perfect, the view is fabulous!

We love renting from Maine Stay Vacations. Great staff and wonderful properties. We’ve been using them for a long time..
What a nice getaway we had. The cabin is secluded with pretty views. There’s quite a bit of wildlife to watch (we saw a deer, a coyote, blue herons and ospreys). Across the way we watched the lobster coop work in full swing loading lobster pots onto boats and then later unloading lobsters. My husband fished right off the property.
